"Never a believer in milestone birthdays life started to make sense for me when in 2000, 6 months before my 30th birthday, I picked up a copy of the Dalai Lama's 'Ancient Wisdom, Modern World', and from there a lifetime fascination for the spiritual and Buddhist philosophies resulted in a large number of books being digested and a course in mediation practice with the Brahma Kumaris World Spiritual Organisation.

With this new found knowledge and having put much of the theory into practice, I started to wonder what life might have been like had I known what I know now when I left school, at which time I had next to no guidance about what I was supposed to do after school and why. Having assessed teaching as a possible career move following a second redundancy in 2006, the result was the draft of the pioneering Stress-Free-Kids programme, with the intention of providing young people with the knowledge that I wished I'd had at their age, such as the relevance of education to the rest of my life, and that I can make whatever I want become a reality. Thankfully I had interest almost immediately which helped maintain my motivation.

Such is the success of Stress-Free that I'm now being asked to provide workshops and support for adults charged with the nurturing and care of young people, from teachers to parents, as well as business that have heard about our fun, back to basics approach. We also have the interest of the police service, youth offending service and extended services, hence the rebrand in 2008 to "Stress Free".

It's fantastic to finally be doing something I love and to see the a-ha moments on the faces of people of all ages and abilities as we discuss and develop their personal understanding and enhance their skills to make the most of life. It's also great to have attracted individuals from such an impressive array of backgrounds who have asked to work with the Stress Free brand and their enthusiasm for establishing a leading coaching brand with a fresh approach. Stress Free truly does have international potential."
